The official function of the 77th Republic Day 2026 was celebrated at Secretariat Plaza, Nagaland Civil Secretariat, Kohima on January 26 with Chief Minister of Nagaland, Dr Neiphiu Rio unfurl the National flag, received Rashtriya Salute inspected the parade and delivered the Republic Day address.

The march past for the 77th Republic Day 2026 was led by Parade Commander,  Z Tshurhosie Kajiri, NPS Dy. Commandant, 5th NAP Bn. and  Second-in-Command Gurpreet Kaur, IPS (Probationer). The 17 parade contingents that participated were: Assam Rifles; 78 Bn. CRPF; 105 Bn. BSF; Tripura Police; DEF Kohima; 4th NAP Bn.; 10th NAP (IR) Bn.; 15th NAP (IR) Mahila Bn.; Home Guards & Civil Defence &SDRF; Ex-Servicemen; NCC (Boys); NCC (Girls); Bharat Scouts & Guides;13 Assam Rifles Pipe Band; Nagaland Police PTS Brass Band; 15th NAP(IR) Mahila Bn. The recipients of the Governor’s Gold Medal as announced on Republic Day 2025 were: Suman Shivashankar Sivachar, IFS, Divisional Forest Officer, Wokha; Tsutsowe Kupa, NCS, Under Secretary, State Election Commission; Lanuchuba Longchar, NPS, Asst. Commandant, 12th NAP (IR) Bn.

The recipients of the Union Home Minister’s Medal for excellence in Police Training for the year 2019-2020 were: UBI Kevisebilie Angami; UBSI Rhinilo Keppen; Inspector N Mhabemo Lotha; Havildar Sentiyanger Ao.

On the occasion of Republic Day 2026 the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service was awarded to Ben Longkumer, Commandant, Nagaland.

The Police Medal for Meritorious Service on the occasion of Republic Day 2026 were awarded to Lanuchuba Longchar, Assistant Commandant, Mepu Konyak, Inspector/ARMR and I Akaho Sumi, Havildar, Nagaland.

The Awardees of the Governor’s Gold Medal announced on the occasion of Republic Day 2026, were: Chubasangla Longkumer, Joint Secretary, Home Department; Er K Tingtenmoie Konyak, Executive Engineer, Electrical Division, Mon; Dr Micheal Imti Imchen, Dy Director, Veterinary Hospital, Dimapur; Dr. Wobenthung M Kithan, Medical Officer, Chukitong PHC, Wokha; E. Aphak Konyak, Unarmed Battalion Inspector, DEF, Mon; Abemo Ezung, Armed Battalion Inspector, Narcotic Branch, PHQ.

Special presentations were performed by Nurile Chizo, 78 Bn CRPF and Women Resouces Development and cultural performances by Jakhama Village Cultural Troupe, Yachummaro Cultural Group, Pochury Cultural Troupe Kohima, Yangphi Jümü Lili Mulung and Yimkhiung Beru Cultural Troupe.

Thereafter, the Chief Minister inaugurated the Exhibition Stalls, launched marcofed e-Commerce platform ‘NagaBazaar’ and also inaugurated the Drone School- Drone Centre of Excellence, Nagaland at GIS & Remote Sensing Centre.

Visit of institutions by charitable organizations

As part of the 77th Republic Day, 2026 celebration held at the Nagaland Civil Secretariat Plaza, the Indian Red Cross Society, Kohima District Branch distributed sweets to the public at the Parade Ground, Kohima.

Meanwhile, various charitable organisations undertook visits to different institutions across the district to extend support and goodwill. Gorkha Public Panchayat, Kohima visited the State Mental Health Institute and interacted with the patients and staff, while the Nagaland Contractors & Suppliers Union visited Bright Morning Star Orphanage and spent time with the children. Hindu Kalyan Samiti, Kohima visited the Kohima Orphanage and Destitute Home and interacted with the children, and the Kohima Masjid Committee visited the District Jail and met with the inmates.

The Kohima Chamber of Commerce & Industry visited Cherry Blossom, while Royal Club, Kohima visited the Old Age Home and spent time with the elderly. Puliebadze Club, Kohima visited the District TB & Chest Diseases Hospital, Khuzama and interacted with patients and hospital staff. Classic Club, Kohima visited Mt. Gilead Home, while Rotary Club, Kohima visited Cradle Ridge.

Evening programme at Nagaland Civil Secretariat Plaza

The evening programme marking the celebration of the 77th Republic Day, 2026 was held at the Nagaland Civil Secretariat Plaza on January 26. Abhijit Sinha, IAS, Principal Secretary, Home Department and Home Commissioner, Government of Nagaland, graced the programme as the chief guest.

During the programme, a football exhibition match was played between Kohima District Football Association and Morning Premier League, which ended in 1-1 draw.

Prize distribution was carried out for the participating parade contingents, exhibition stalls and football teams.

In the Parade Contingent (Uniformed) category, Tripura Police secured first position, followed by 15th NAP (IR) Mahila Battalion in second place and Home Guards, Civil Defence & SDRF in third place.

In the Parade Contingent (Non-Uniformed) category, NCC (Girls) won first prize, NCC (Boys) secured second position, while Bharat Scouts & Guides stood third.

Under Exhibition Stalls, the Department of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services won first prize, followed by the Department of Land Resources in second place and the Department of Sericulture in third.

The award for Best Parade Commander was conferred on Z. Tshurhosie Kajiri, NPS, Deputy Commandant, 5th NAP Battalion, while the award for Best Second-in-Command was awarded to Gurpreet Kaur, IPS (Probationer).

Band displays were presented by the 13 Assam Rifles Pipe Band, Nagaland Police PTS Brass Band and Nagaland Police Auxiliary Brass Band. The programme concluded with the Beating of Retreat.

Lok Bhavan Nagaland:

As part of the 77th Republic Day celebrations, the National Flag was unfurled at Lok Bhavan, Kohima, on January 26 by the Commissioner & Secretary to the Governor of Nagaland, Thavaseelan K, IAS.

The solemn ceremony was attended by officers and staff of Lok Bhavan, along with CPT, SB and AR personnel residing at Lok Bhavan, Kohima. The event reflected the spirit of patriotism and reverence for the Constitution of India, marking the significance of Republic Day.

Dimapur:

The 77th Republic Day was celebrated with solemnity and patriotic zeal at Dimapur DDSC Stadium on January 26. The function was held with a series of ceremonial and cultural programmes, marking the significance of the day and honouring exemplary service to society. Chief Guest, Metsubo Jamir, Minister for Rural Development and SIRD, Nagaland, unfurled the National Flag and took the Rashtriya Salute, followed by inspection of the Parade contingents.

The Parade contingents were reviewed by the Commissioner of Police, Khrusa Kheyo Dimapur. The Parade Commander was Manas Utpal, IPS while, Second-in-Command was Lanutemsu (ABI 11th BN, IR). The parade contingent units included Police Commissioner, Dimapur; 11th NAP (IR) Battalion; Home Guard Civil Defense & SDRF; Ex- Servicemen; NCC, Dimapur, Govt. College; Zakiesato Memorial Hr. Sec. School, Dimapur; PM Shri Govt. High School, Burma Camp and 15th AR Band Platoon.

Addressing the gathering, Jamir highlighted the importance of unity, discipline and collective responsibility in nation-building. The programme also featured a special cultural segment, including a patriotic song by students of St. Mary Higher Secondary School, Dimapur, and folk dance performances by Kachari and Sumi cultural troupes, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the region. The Minister later inaugurated stalls set up by various departments and organisations.

As part of the occasion, district awards were conferred on individuals and organisations in recognition of their outstanding service and contribution to society. The awardees included the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), Dimapur; Vizokholie Meyase; WPC Koralina; Temsuwapang Longchar; Mempho Phom; Water and Sanitation Committee (WATSAN), Aoyimti Village; Dimapur Gurudwara Sahib and Social Worker, Chandu Kumar Agarwal.

In the evening, the celebrations concluded with a prize distribution and ceremonial retreat by the Assam Rifles, marking the end of the district’s Republic Day observance.

Chumoukedima:

Advisor for Urban Development & Municipal Affairs, Zhaleo Rio inspecting the parade

Chumoukedima district celebrated the 77th Republic Day  at Sammogooting Stadium, DC’s Office Complex, in a programme organized by the district administration, Chumoukedima.

Advisor for Urban Development & Municipal Affairs, Zhaleo Rio, graced the occasion and unfurled the National Flag, followed by inspection of the parade contingents and delivery of the Republic Day address.

March past was led by Parade Commander Kumari Kanchan Gohil, IPS (Probationer). The parade contingents included 1st NAP Battalion, 15th NAP (IR) Mahila Battalion, 22nd Assam Rifles, Ex-Servicemen, Patkai College, Government Higher Secondary School, Tetso College, St. Joseph College, Assam Rifles Training Centre and School Pipe Band.

During the programme, District Commendation Awards were presented to the WATSAN Committee, Tsithrongse Village, and the District Hub for Empowerment of Women (DHEW), Chumoukedima, in recognition of their services.

Other highlights included cultural performances including folk dances by the Sumi Cultural Troupe and Kuyingpong Cultural Society (Sangtam Naga). A special Vande Mataram performance was presented by Lucina Katiry of Highland Hall Higher Secondary School.

Later, the Advisor also inaugurated exhibition stalls set up by various departments including the Rural Development Department, Department of Agriculture, Department of Social Welfare, Nagaland Beekeeping and Honey Mission, Department of Sericulture, and Department of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Sciences.

The programme concluded with the beating of retreat ceremony by 1st  NAP Battalion, Chumoukedima.

Zunheboto:

Minister for PWD (Roads & Bridges), G Kaito Aye inaugurating the Exhibition Stalls

The 77th Republic Day was celebrated at the Local Ground, Zunheboto. The programme was graced by the Minister for PWD (Roads & Bridges), G Kaito Aye as the Special Guest.

The Minister unfurled the National Flag and took the Rashtriya salute from the parade contingents followed by the Republic Day address. A colourful march-past was presented by eight contingents composed of the District Executive Force (DEF), Zunheboto; 8th NAP, Naltoqa; Ex-Servicemen; Home Guards & Civil Defence; Band Party, 8th Assam Rifles, Zunheboto; NCC Unit, Government Higher Secondary School; Olympic Higher Secondary School. and Cornerstone Higher Secondary School, Zunheboto.

The programme was compered by Mercy Zhimo and Nisana T. Zhimo, Assistant Professors of Zunheboto Government College.

Special attractions of the day included a Naga Kheks special number, an indigenous dance performance by Alahuto Colony Sunday School, 8th Assam Rifles Zunheboto and the inauguration of exhibition stalls by the Special Guest, setup by the Department of Forest, Agriculture, Horticulture, land Resources, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary, Medical department set up respective stall.

In the afternoon, Sumi Kukami Hoho visited the District Hospital, while Sumi Totomi Hoho (Zunheboto Area) visited the District Jail. A ward-wise penalty shootout competition for both men and women was held in the evening. To mark the celebration, the National Flags were unfurled at all government offices and educational institutions.

The celebrations concluded with the traditional Beating of Retreat by DEF Zunheboto, marking the end of a successful and memorable Republic Day celebration in the district.

Tuensang:

Advisor DUDA, Geology and Mining, Chingang Konyak delivering the Republic Day speech at Tuensang

The 77th Republic Day was celebrated at Parade Ground, Tuensang on January 26, with Advisor DUDA, Geology and Mining, Chingang Konyak as the Special Guest. The advisor unfurled the National Flag, took Rashtriya Salute and delivered the Republic Day Speech.

The Parade Contingents includes, DEF Tuensang, 3rd NAP Tuensang, Home Guard and Civil Defence, Village Guard from Tuensang Village and Kejok Village, Ex-servicemen, NCC Tuensang and 3rd NAP and Hauhyang Chuba Pipe Bands. The Advisor also Flag off two wheeler Taxi service and inaugurated the Exhibition Stalls set up by various Departments from Tuensang. The Advisor was accompanied by MLA, Lima Onen Chang, MLA, Imti Choba Chang and Host of dignitaries.

Other highlights of the day were Special Presentation by Bethel Children’s Home and 29th Assam Rifles Tuensang, and Cultural Presentation by Chang Un Cultural Club and Sangli Cultural Troupe.

Visitation of District Hospital by Tuensang Town Baptist Lashing, District Jail by Sangtam Baptist Lithrongla Tuensang, Bethel Children’s Home by Tenyimi Church Tuensang and Kohdi Children’s Home by Tuensang Town Ao Baptist Arogo. Exhibition Football match between Government Departments and Chang Wedoshi Setshang (CWS) was played at Loyem Memorial Astro Turf Ground Tuensang.

Phek:

Advisor for Land Resources, Ikuto Zhimomi delivering the Republic Day Speech at Phek

Phek District celebrated the 77th Republic Day at local ground Phek Town on January 26 with Ikuto Zhimomi, Advisor for Land Resources as the Special Guest. The Special Guest unfurled the National Flag and delivered the Republic Day speech. He also took Rashtriya Salute from the six Parade Contingents which includes, DEF Phek, 5th NAP, Home Guards, Bharat Scouts & Guides, 39th Assam Rifles and Pipe Band (39th AR).

I Kuto Zhimomi also inaugurated the Exhibition Stalls set-up by the Department of Agriculture, District Legal Services, ARCS (Cooperation), Horticulture, Election, Medical, Treasury & Accounts, and Nagaland Mission (LIRHÛ VANDHAN).

The celebration begins by hoisting the National Flag in all offices, Institutions and private residence in Phek Town. Highlights of the program include folk songs presented by Bible Hill Ward and a Special performance by Tune UP Academy, Phek. Government employees, Public leaders, NGOs and students attended the celebration program.

Noklak:

Advisor, School Education & SCERT, Dr. Kekhrielhoulie Yhome inspecting the parade at Noklak

Along with the rest of the country, Noklak celebrated Republic Day with Advisor, School Education & SCERT Government of Nagaland, Dr. Kekhrielhoulie Yhome on 26th Janauary 2026. Dr. Kekhrielhoulie Yhome unfurled the National Flag and took the Rashtriya Salute from the Parade contingents comprises of DEF & NAP Noklak, Village Guard, Anyashu, Village Guard, Pathso, GHSS Noklak, GHS Noklak, Holy Angel High School Noklak St. Paul School Noklak, Christian High School Noklak and Frontier Piper Band, NVG. He also read out the Republic day speech.

Later, Yhome inaugurated the Exhibition stalls set up by various departments, Noklak District Handloom & Handicrafts Council and SHGs.

Other highlights of the occasion were special song presented by Supon H of Christian High School and Eden Boyz Band. To mark the occasion, the District Administration along with the HODs of various department and Red Cross Society, Noklak Branch visited District Hospital Noklak.

In the evening session, Football exhibition match was played and the programme ended with Retreat by Frontier Piper Band.

Longleng:

Advisor, Minority Affairs and Sericulture, Imkongmar inspecting the parade at Longleng

The 77th Republic Day was celebrated at Public Ground, Longleng on January 26, with Advisor, Minority Affairs and Sericulture, Imkongmar as the Special Guest.

Advisor, Imkongmar unfurled the National Flag and took Rashtriya salute from the parade contingents. He also inspected the ceremonial parade contingents and delivered the Republic Day speech.

The parade contingents comprised DEF Longleng, Village Guard, Yingli College, Bautung Government Higher Secondary School, St. Joseph High School, Good Shepherd High School and 12th NAP (IR) Chingtok Band party.

The Special Guest inaugurated the exhibition stalls and inspected the stalls set up by various departments. The programme was compered by Jonathan Singsit and Nyulen A Phom.

Folk dance presented by Tangha Buhu Hoichem Longleng, Folk song presented by Tangha Momchingla Longleng, a special performance by the students of Christian School Longleng, an Exhibition match and penalty shootout between various departments during the occasion were the highlights of the day.

Meluri:

Minister for Women Resource Development & Horticulture, Salhoutuonuo Kruse taking the Rashtriya Salute at Meluri Republic Day celebration

      

The 77th Republic Day was celebrated at Meluri on January 26 with Minister for Women Resource Development & Horticulture, Salhoutuonuo Kruse gracing the occasion as the Special Guest.

She unfurled the National flag and took the Rashtriya salute from the parade contingents of Village Guards of Lephory post, Ex. Servicemen  of Meluri, Christian Higher Secondary School Meluri, St. Xavier Higher Secondary School Meluri, Government Higher Secondary School Meluri and VG Pipe Band of Meluri.

The special guest also inaugurated exhibition stalls installed by various departments and Self Help Groups. Other highlights of the day included a special presentation by Project 5 PM and a cultural dance by Meluri Women Society.

Kiphire:

Advisor, Social Welfare, Wangpang Konyak taking the Rashtriya Salute at Kiphire

In Kiphire, 77th Republic Day was celebrated at Local Ground, Kiphire on January 26 with MLA & Advisor, Social Welfare, Wangpang Konyak as the Special Guest, who unfurled the national flag, delivered the Republic Day speech, took Rashtriya Salute and inspected the Parade contingents.

The parade was reviewed by Superintendent of Police, Kiphire Chinese Chakhesang NPS. March past was led by Parade Commander Assistant Commander Imlisunep, NPS 8th NAP & SDPO(Ex – Officio) Pungro, and Second-in-Command ABI Daniel Ao 14th NAP (IR). Eight parade Contingents took part in the ceremonial parade including 30th Assam Rifles Kiphire, DEF Kiphire,14th NAP (IR) Kiphire, Village Guard Kiphire village, NCC, Zisaji Presidency Government College, Bharat Scouts & Guides, Pipe Band,30th Assam Rifles and Parade BHM Kiphire.

Konyak also inaugurated and inspected the exhibition stalls set up by various government department of the District.

Other highlights of the programme were Cultural presentation from Kiphire village Cultural Troupe and Hilly Troupe of Zisaji Presidency College Kiphire (ZPC). Special presentation by Tsasupa, KDDA and Rozehli L Sangtam.

Volleyball exhibition match was played between Six Star Club and Young Stage Club, United Fables Club and Kiphire Village United Sporting Club. Beating of retreat was presented by DEF, Kiphire.

The comperes of the program were Chamdiba Sangtam, Asst.Proffessor, ZPC and  Yihingle Ndang, Asst. Professor ZPC.

Peren:

Minister of Forest, Environment & Climate Change and Village Guards, CL John inaugurating the Exhibition Stalls at Peren

The 77th Republic Day was celebrated with enthusiasm and patriotic fervour at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office Complex, Peren. The programme commenced with the unfurling of the National Flag and taking of the Rashtriya Salute by the Minister of Forest, Environment & Climate Change and Village Guards, CL John.

As part of the celebration, National Flags were hoisted in all Government offices, institutions, and residential premises across the district in the early morning hours. The parade was reviewed by the Superintendent of Police, Peren, followed by the arrival of the Minister, inspection of the parade, Republic Day address, and March past.

The march past featured contingents from DEF, Peren; 9th NAP (IR), Saijang; Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Jalukie; Peren Government College; and Sainik School, Punglwa. The parade was commanded by Assistant Commandant, 9th NAP BN (IR), Saijang, Ronvungthung Yanthan, NPS, with ABI, 1st NAP, Kahito Achumi, as Parade Second-in-Command.

Cultural performances were presented by the Rongmei Cultural Troupe, Peren, and Peren Government College Cultural Troupe. A folk song was presented by St. Xavier’s College, Jalukie, followed by a patriotic song by Matubo Zeliang. The Minister also inaugurated the exhibition stalls set up at the venue.

On the occasion, awards were presented to Progressive Farmers and Best Farm School awardees in recognition of their contributions to agriculture and allied sectors. The Farmers Award was conferred to Idalia Cerai of Old Tesen Village, Tening Block; Ipeisibe Ikie of Ndunglwa Village, Peren Block; Thangkhohao Dimngel of Phaijol Village, Ahthibung Block; Alung Newme of Jalukie-kam Village; and Nzeuwang Nampeung. The Best Farm School Award was awarded to Akole Zeliang of Heunambe Village, Peren Block; Ngulthang Lenthang of Old Chalkot Village, Ahthibung Block; Igumong of New Tesen Village, Tening Block; and Dibamleule of Mhainamtsi, Jalukie, Peren District, for promoting sustainable and income-generating farming practices under ATMA support.

As part of the programme, visits were carried out to the District Jail, Peren, by IRCS, Peren; District Hospital, Peren, by Peren Town Council; and Children Home, Peren, by Mission Shakti, Peren.

The day-long celebration concluded with the Retreat ceremony conducted by DEF, Peren, in the evening.

Mokokchung:

Advisor for Law & Justice and Land Revenue, TN Mannen inspecting the parade

 

The 77th Republic Day was celebrated at Imkongmeren Sports Complex, Mokokchung on January 26 with Advisor for Law & Justice and Land Revenue, Nagaland, TN Mannen, unfurling the National Flag and delivering the Republic Day Speech.

Altogether , eight contingents comprising of 2nd NAP Bn. Alichen, DEF Mokokchung, 13thNAP (IR) Bn. Yajang, Home Guards, Mokokchung, Ex – Servicemen, Mokokchung District BS & G, NCC, MGHSS and Band Party (2nd NAP Bn. Alichen) took part in the March past with Assistant Commandant 2nd  NAP Bn. Alichen, Zareni Yanthan, NPS, as the Parade Commander and ABI, K Meren Jamir, New Reserve, DEF, Mokokchung, as the Second in- Command.

Other highlights of the programme include cultural presentation by Zee Walok Cultural Troupe, Ungma and Chang Union Cultural Troupe, Mokokchung and Tug Of War between HoDs and All Ward Union, Mokokchung.

The Advisor also inaugurated the exhibition stalls set up by Women Entrepreneurs, Mokokchung, Department of Health and Family Welfare, Department of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services, Institute of Communication and Information Technology, Mokokchung, Nagaland, Mokokchung District Legal Services Authority, DRDA, Department of Horticulture and the Department of Agriculture.

In the evening, Football exhibition match was played between DC XI and MDVFA while Penalty Shootout (Ladies) was played between the Technical Team and Rest of the department.

Mon:

Minister Health & Family Welfare, P Paiwang Konyak launching Mon Matti Portal on the occasion of Republic Day at Mon

The 77th Republic Day was celebrated at Local Ground, Mon Town with Minister Health & Family Welfare, P Paiwang Konyak, gracing the occasion as a Special Guest.

Upon arrival, the Minister unfurled the National Flag, took Rashtriya Salute and inspected the Parade contingents and delivered the Republic Day speech, followed by the March Pass by the ten contingents. He also handed over District Commendation Award and Mon Town, Cleanest Ward Award.

The Special Guest also launched Mon Matti Portal. A digital platform designed to manage land-related permissions, specifically for renewing or obtaining permits on government lands in the Mon district. It assists with Land Records, ensuing legality and processing applications. Later he inaugurated the stalls set up by different societies and departments.

Saddam Hussain, JE (CIV), 100 RCC (GREF); Er. Abhishek Bhatt, JE (CIV) , 100 RCC (GREF); Er. Jitendra Singh, JE (CIV), 100 RCC (GREF); Kapil Chandra Bohara, Driver, SDO Electrical Office, Naginimora.

Wagim Ward and Shantham Ward bagged First and Second Position in the Inter ward Mon Town, Cleanest ward Award, while Tompang ward and Thamnan Ward secured third Position.

Mankap T Konyak, NPS, Asst.Comdt, ‘D’ Coy 11th NAP (IR) Bn was the Parade Commander. The parade contingents comprised: 42 Assam Rifles, Mon, 42 Assam Rifles, Pipe Band, Mon, DEF, Mon, Village Guards, Ex-Servicemen, NCC, GHSS Mon, GHSS, Mon Town, Don Bosco Higher Secondary School (Scout & Guides), Mon District Bharat Scout & Guides and 6th  NAP Pipe Band. Manwang Konyak, Assistant Professor, WGC and Shulia , Assistant Professor, WGC were the comperes of the Programme.

Special items of the programme were, Special Number by Akhao Konyak,  Cultural Dance by Totok Union, Mon Town (Women) and Mon Union Mon Town.

Other highlights of the celebration included Hoisting National Flags in all Government Offices and Educational Institutions. Parade Review by Superintendent of Police, Mon.

Some Departments visited institutions: District Jail by EE, Water Resources Department, Mon, District Hospital by 100 RCC GREF, Mon, Orphanage Home and District De-Addiction Centre, KBBB by NHIDCL, Old Age Home by DWO, Mon.

The evening Session was Compered by Samuel Konyak. There was Inter-Departmental Penalty Shootout followed by Prize Distribution.  Band display followed by “Beating of Retreat Ceremony” by 6th NAP Pipe Band.

Tseminyu:

Advisor Industry & Commerce, Hekani Jakhalu taking the Rashtriya Salute at Tseminyu

 

The 77th Republic Day was celebrated at RSA Ground, Tseminyu with Hekani Jakhalu, Advisor Industry & Commerce as the Special Guest who unfurled the National flag, took Rashtriya salute from 6 (six) Parade contingents and and delivered the Republic Day speech.

The Parade contingents included 4th NAP (A) coy, GHSS-NCC, Baptist Higher Secondary School -NCC, DBS-NCC, Christian School Tseminyu and Ex-servicemen.

The Special Guest also inaugurated exhibition stalls set up by various departments and visited the district hospital & orphanage home.

Other highlights of the programme were: special no. presented by music academy Tseminyu, folk song by Kasha Daho Tseminyu Unit.

The exhibition match (Futsal) was play between DC staff Vs SP team Tseminyu, Officers team Vs Pastors team, DBs Vs GBs and Rengma Selozi Vs RSU.

Wokha:

Minister for Tourism and Higher Education, Temjen Imna Along inspecting the Republic Day parade

 

Joining the rest of the nation the 77th Republic Day was celebrated at Local Ground, Wokha. The event was graced by Minister for Tourism and Higher Education, Temjen Imna Along as the Special Guest.

Upon arrival, the Special Guest unfurled the National Flag, took the Rashtriya Salute, and joined in the National Anthem. He inspected the parade contingents and delivered the Republic Day speech.

The march past featured eight contingents, namely DEF Wokha, 7th NAP Wokha, District Home Guards and Civil Defence, Ex-Servicemen, Bharat Scouts and Guides Wokha, NCC JNV Chukitong, NCC Mount Tiyi College Wokha, and NCC GHSS Wokha.

Cultural entertainment added vibrancy to the celebration, with folk songs presented by Lakhuti Women Cultural Club, Wokha Town and Longsa Women Cultural Group, Wokha Town.

A live demonstration on fire safety and measures to tackle fire-related incidents was demonstrated by the Fire and Emergency Service, Wokha, creating awareness among the public.

The Special Guest also inaugurated stalls set up by various departments and self-help groups, including Horticulture, Agriculture, Cooperation, Department of Animal and Veterinary Service, Divisional Management Unit Wokha, Longtsan SHG Englan Wokha, Wokha District Legal Service Authority, Renthan SHG, and the Medical Team from District Hospital Wokha.
