With engines roaring and dust clouds rising over the Imkongmeren Sports Complex, Mokokchung on February 7 witnessed the conclusion of the 9th Auto & MotoX along with the Northeast Championship Round 2026, organized by the Adventure and Motorsports Association Mokokchung (AMAM). Held over two days from February 6 to 7, the event also hosted Round One of the Northeast Championship 2026, featuring AutoX and MotoX competitions with a total prize pool of ₹3.50 lakh. The event was sponsored by Nagaland Minerals & Mines, PitStop (Kohima), MG Dimapur, Ahibi, and Digi Printers.
Participation this year was exclusively from across Nagaland, with competitors representing Kohima, Dimapur and Mokokchung. The prize distribution ceremony was graced by Wangpang Konyak, MLA and Advisor, Social Welfare, Government of Nagaland, as the Special Guest.
Ruokuobeituo of Kohima Adventure Motorsports Club (KAMC) clinched the Fastest Driver Award, clocking a best runtime of 02:28.10, and also emerged as the Champion of the Northeast Championship for Round One.

In the AutoX Below 1300cc category, Thezieu Kire (KAMC) emerged as the Champion with a best runtime of 02:31.72. Ruokuobeituo (KAMC) finished as the 1st Runners-up with 02:33.41, while Chumdemo (Spearhead) secured the 2nd Runners-up position with 02:34.06.
In the AutoX Open category, Ruokuobeituo (KAMC) was crowned Champion, clocking a best runtime of 02:28.10. Thezieu Kire (KAMC) claimed the 1st Runners-up position with 02:32.91, while Chumdemo (Spearhead) finished as 2nd Runners-up with 02:33.81.
Atoba Longkumer (Spearhead) secured fourth place with 02:34.44, followed by Kima Jamir (Spearhead) in fifth place with 02:35.47.
For the Northeast Championship, the Champion title was claimed by Ruokuobeituo (KAMC), with Thezieu Kire (KAMC) finishing as 1st Runners-up, and Chumdemo (Spearhead) as 2nd Runners-up.

In the MotoX Open category, which featured eight riders, Hukhoto Chuzho emerged as the Champion, followed by Bedukho Rhakho as 1st Runners-up, and Neithoser Soukhrie as 2nd Runners-up. Notably, all three podium finishers represented Throttle Misfits, Kohima. The remaining riders-Justin, Asa, Liron, Alem Jamir, and Alem, completed the standings in the category.
In the MotoX Beginner category, which saw participation from 10 riders, Khruzoto Khesoh was crowned Champion. Khrishna Sharma finished as 1st Runners-up, while Lhousivile Meyase secured the 2nd Runners-up position. Perong placed fourth, Alem finished fifth, Rinko came sixth, Jungshi secured seventh, Moasen finished eighth, Shalo Kent placed ninth, and Akum rounded off the standings in tenth position.

The Champions, 1st Runners-up, and 2nd Runners-up in each category of AutoX Below 1300cc, AutoX SUV, MotoX Open, and MotoX Beginner were awarded cash prizes, trophies, and certificates. In the AutoX Open category, competitors finishing Champion to fifth position received trophies, certificates, and cash prizes. For the Northeast Championship, the Champion, 1st Runners-up, and 2nd Runners-up were awarded trophies, certificates, and cash prizes.
This edition saw around 60 four-wheelers competing in the AutoX segment and approximately 17 riders participating in the MotoX events. AutoX competitions were conducted across three categories – Open, Below 1300cc, and SUV. The Below 1300cc category had 24 drivers, while the Open category recorded 25 participants. In total, 33 competitors registered for the Northeast Championship Round One.

The Northeast Championship comprises 12 rounds, with 11 rounds remaining in the current season. The overall champion, determined through cumulative points across all rounds, will earn qualification for the Indian National Rally Championship (INRC) and represent the Northeast, sponsored by the Motorsport Association of Northeast India.

This season marks a first-of-its-kind format change, with the introduction of an Open Class combining both cars and SUVs into a single competitive class. Rankings will be decided based on points earned from the best overall timing in each round. Participation in the N.E. Championship has been made mandatory for all the entire participants who has got registered.
The season winner will receive free sponsorship to participate in one round of the INRC or may opt for prize money, subject to applicable conditions. The 1st and 2nd Runners-up will receive trophies along with cash prizes, the amounts of which are yet to be announced. Additionally, trophies will be awarded to the top three overall drivers, while certificates will be presented to the top ten ranked drivers in every round.

To ensure transparency and fairness, the championship will be monitored and evaluated by executives and representatives from all Northeast motorsport clubs, with one representative from each affiliated club overseeing the proceedings.
