In connection with Aadhaar Mandatory Biometric Update (MBU) for students, a meeting was held under the Chairmanship of ADC Dimapur, Zakabo V. Rotokha at the DC’s conference hall, Dimapur on 21st August 2024.

In the meeting, it was decided that Aadhaar camps would be set up in the schools by the first week of September for carrying out Mandatory Biometric Update catering to the age groups of 5 to 7 years and 15 to 17 years.

ADC Dimapur sought the cooperation of the school administrators during the Aadhaar Biometric update exercise, in order to avoid inconveniences to the Aadhaar holders, especially students as failure may lead to de-activation and result in authentication failures.

Feasibility for combining two/three schools based on the size of targeted group and availability of resources were also deliberated.

The meeting was attended by DEO, DPRO, All Nagaland Private School Association Dimapur Unit, Nagaland School Alliance along with the district administration of Dimapur.

It may be noted that the Unique Identification Authority of India has directed the DCs and DEOs to go for Mandatory Biometric Update of Aadhaar in their respective jurisdiction.
