The All Commercial Vehicle Association (ACVA), Wokha District commemorated its 12th Foundation Day at the VDB Hall, Wokha, on May 17, reaffirming its commitment towards the welfare of commercial vehicle operators and community service.
The programme was attended by Associate Pastor of WTBC, Zurenthung Humtsoe, as the Guest Speaker, who called upon members to remain united for the growth of the association.
Addressing the gathering, Humtsoe emphasised the need for discipline, cooperation and shared responsibility among members, while recognising the important role played by commercial vehicle drivers in society. He noted that drivers provide essential services to the public by facilitating transportation and assisting people, particularly during emergencies and difficult situations.
Encouraging members to take pride in their profession, he reminded them that their work contributes meaningfully to society and should not be regarded as insignificant.
The event also reflected on the history and evolution of the association. According to ACVA Wokha District, the organisation was officially established on May 17, 2014, following a consultative meeting convened on April 23 that year at the All Nagaland Taxi Association (ANTA) Office, Wokha Unit. Representatives from different commercial vehicle unions including taxi, truck, mini truck, tata mobile, bus and auto unions alongside officials from the Wokha District Chamber of Commerce and Industries, had jointly resolved to create an apex body to safeguard the interests and welfare of commercial vehicle operators across the district.
Earlier in the programme, ACVA president Yanyithung Lotha delivered the welcome address, while founding member Renbomo Humtsoe shared an account of the association’s formation and journey over the years.

The meeting also reviewed the association’s financial position for 2026–2027, presented by Finance Secretary, T Renbemo Kikon, and reaffirmed resolutions adopted in 2018 concerning non-local owners operating commercial vehicles within ACVA Wokha District’s jurisdiction.
Further discussions were held on issues relating to local taxi operations introduced by ANTA Wokha Unit, as raised by the Wokha District Auto Union (WDAU), with the house assuring its cooperation towards protecting the welfare and interests of the union and its members.
The house additionally reaffirmed its stand on the principle of “One Government, One Tax” and appointed Simon Ezung as Joint Secretary of ACVA Wokha District.
