ADC Peren encourages young electors to vote bravely every election

Along with the rest of India, Peren District celebrated the 15th National Voters’ Day under the theme: “Nothing like Voting, I Vote for Sure” in great pomp and spirit at PTWWO Hall on 25th January 2025. The celebration was graced by Additional Deputy Commissioner and Electoral Officer, Peren, Keyirangding Hegui as the special guest.

In his speech, Keyirangding Hegui spoke on the significance of the National Voters’ Day, and reminded the young electors that the constitution of India has given the privilege, the right for exercising adult suffrage, so one should be responsible and come for voting bravely during every election. He also congratulated all the awardees and newly enrolled electors for their participants. Further, he highlighted the status of the electors of the district and appealed for more enrollment specially the 18-19 years age group.

Peren District SVEEP Icon, Kimkhailiu Pamai in her short speech, encouraged the youngsters to come forward and get registered. She also stated that every vote counts and when we come together, we can make big decisions to change our society.

Earlier, the program was chaired by LDA cum Computer Assistant, Election Department, Chenchuli Apon, while United Baptist Church Pastor, Yansai invoked God’s blessing, and a special number was presented by the children of Children’s Home, Peren.

The programme ended with a vote of thanks by Assistant Election Officer, Peren, Aketo Shohe. Over all the programme was attended by over 210 from various societies.
