Er. Kropol Vitsu, Advisor for Prisons, Printing, and Stationery for the Government of Nagaland, inaugurated the Elozwü Sakri Tsükhwe, a stone sit-out, in Kezoma Village, Kohima district on August 24.

During the inaugural, the Advisor mentioned that the new structure is a pilot project under the LADP Iconic Project for 2023-24 initiated by the Nagaland government. Advisor Vitsu expressed his satisfaction with the project’s rapid construction and funding, urging the villagers to take ownership of the new facility.

He also encouraged the community to consider the obstacles to development in the region and suggested that these challenges stem from the actions of the people themselves.

In this regard, he urged the community to keep their faith in their elected representatives. To promote development and ensure equal opportunities for the village, the Advisor encouraged residents to rise above the barriers created by party politics.

Reflecting on the political landscape, he pointed out that while voters select their preferred candidates during elections, political parties eventually unite the people again after the results.

Vitsu highlighted that for substantial development and funding to take place, it is essential to strengthen state politics through active engagement from the populace with their elected representatives, while also fostering solid connections at the central level. He also acknowledged the presence of opposition to the BJP Government, recognizing that dissent is a natural aspect of the political process.

The Advisor urged citizens not to be swayed by propaganda and rumors targeting the government, emphasizing that both the central and state governments are strong and united.

He reaffirmed the position of the NDA alliance at the central level, stating that it is an organic coalition dedicated to preserving the integrity of the Indian Constitution, which is considered a sacred document. Vitsu stressed that the government would firmly resist any efforts to amend or change the Constitution.

The Advisor also encouraged the public to appreciate the central government for its genuine concern for the state. He highlighted how the government has been actively engaging with the state, pointing out that representatives from the center visit regularly, often every fortnight.

Kikrosa Naki, Chairman of the Kezoma Village Council, conveyed his greetings and thanked the MLA for enhancing the iconic project under the LADP, emphasizing that development should benefit everyone equally. He reflected on the past when villagers depended on the Tsükhwe, a distinctive multi-purpose structure situated at a high point in the village, for important announcements, especially before the advent of modern technology like microphones.

The Chairman expressed his hope that the new structure would serve the village well, urging residents to take ownership and care for the tsükhwe. Additionally, Naki highlighted that it would become a cherished aesthetic heritage for the community and expressed gratitude to fellow village leaders for their contributions during the construction process.

The chairman also brought attention to the villagers’ challenges, noting that while basic necessities are available, he urged the MLA to address the need for repairing and blacktopping the village roads.

Earlier, the program was chaired by Rokovotso Mekro, and the Kezoma Village Women Society performed a folk song.
