The 30th Alongtaki BJP Mandal has sought to clarify the status and origin of several PMGSY road and bridge projects in the constituency, saying the works were sanctioned through the initiatives of the State and Central governments and should not be attributed to any single political party.

In a statement issued by Monglu Jamir, President, and Remasangba Aier, General Secretary (Administration), 30th Alongtaki BJP Mandal, in response to a press release by the 30th Alongtaki A/C Congress Committee, the BJP Mandal said the PMGSY projects, comprising roads and bridges and collectively amounting to approximately ₹40.74 crore, were achieved through the initiatives of the government led by Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio.

It noted that the constituency’s MLA, Temjen Imna Along, is also serving as Minister of Tourism and Higher Education in the State Cabinet.

The BJP listed four road projects sanctioned under PMGSY-IV: Lirmen to Tsuremmen at ₹0.38 crore; JRR Junction to Aonokpu at ₹2.46 crore; L026 to Longjemdang at ₹2.60 crore; and T-01 to Moayimti at ₹3.46 crore.

Four bridge projects under PMGSY-III were also cited, including Tsuboyong at ₹3.12 crore, Tsurang at ₹12.35 crore, Tsuzaba at ₹2.87 crore and Nanaka at ₹3.50 crore.

The BJP Mandal said the approval and sanction of the projects reflected the development priorities of the Central and State governments and aligned with the Centre’s vision of Viksit Bharat 2047. It also highlighted the State’s continued association with the NDA.

According to the statement, another seven to eight road projects covering more than 100 km are being pursued and are currently at an advanced stage of consideration with the Central Government, with the stated objective of improving connectivity across the 30th Alongtaki Assembly Constituency.

The BJP Mandal alleged that attempts by the Congress party in the constituency to claim credit for the developmental works amounted to an effort to create a “false narrative”. It maintained that the sanctioning of the projects was a result of the PDA government’s initiatives and the cooperation between the State and Central governments.

The statement, however, said that the true measure of development should be the benefits delivered to the public. It reaffirmed the BJP’s commitment to “constructive politics” and development-oriented governance, and said it would continue efforts to improve connectivity and infrastructure in the constituency.
