The All Nagaland Taxi Association (ANTA) Hq. Kohima has condemned the recent assault on a regional taxi driver by unknown miscreants while travelling on medical emergency.
In a condemnation, the ANTA mentioned that the incident took place on September 26 between Yakor and Saddle under Shamator District wherein one of its Regional Taxi Driver was assaulted by some unknown miscreants while travelling towards Tuensang on medical emergency.
The Taxi driver, C. Kiuthrun was carrying passengers for medical emergency when his vehicle was stopped by miscreants who threatened the driver with a gun saying that, “situation is tense over here and why are you travelling from this route”.
When the driver replied that he had no knowledge about any tense situation in the area and that he was on medical emergency, the ANTA alleged, that the miscreant “still tried to torture the driver but was saved by the passengers who were on the taxi”.

“The actions in question, specifically are unacceptable and in direct contradiction to the values of human rights justice etc. It is both shocking and disappointing to witness such behavior which has no place in a just and ethical society,” stated the ANTA.
Condemning the act towards its fellow driver, the Association has requested the law enforcing agencies to take immediate and decisive actions towards the unknown miscreants and to ensure that such incidents are not repeated in the future. “Silence or inaction in the face of such behavior would only serve to embolden further injustice. We urge the appropriate authority to please take up this matter seriously,” implored the Association.
