The Lotha Youth Hoho (LYH), along with various youth organizations, has intensified its anti-drug crackdown in Wokha district, resulting in the apprehension of three alleged drug peddlers in separate operations.

While one accused was caught by the Wokha Village Youth Organization on May 3 and another by Tsumang Youth, the third was apprehended during a joint operation conducted on May 4 by the LYH in collaboration with the Wokha Village Youth Organization, Longsa Youth Organization, Niropen Youth, and youths from Wokha town.

The individuals have been identified as Phyobemo, Meribeni, and Zuchilo.

In accordance with its resolution to enforce a drug-free district, the LYH has barred all three from Wokha for a period of five years. They have been instructed to leave the district by Friday.

The action follows the organization’s earlier declaration enforcing a complete ban on the sale, possession, and distribution of illegal drugs in Wokha with effect from May 1, 2026.

Reaffirming its stand, the LYH stated that stringent measures, including expulsion and penalties, will be imposed on those involved in drug-related activities.

Calling for collective responsibility, the organization urged the public to move beyond verbal support and actively participate in the fight against drugs. It appealed to all villages and ranges not to provide shelter to the expelled individuals and to strengthen vigilance through regular inspections.

Highlighting the need for rehabilitation, the LYH called upon churches to take proactive steps towards establishing a detoxification centre in the district and to extend practical support to the ongoing initiative.

The LYH further warned that any attempt to oppose or undermine the anti-drug campaign would invite strict action from the concerned youth organizations.

The organization affirmed that surprise checking drives and coordinated patrols will continue to ensure the district remains drug-free.
