On World Tuberculosis Day on 24 March 2023, an awareness lecture on Prevention Measures of Tuberculosis was organised by Jalukie Battalion, Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (North) at Peren Town in Peren district, Nagaland.
In the programme aimed to raise awareness on TB, AR personnels educated villagers and college students about how the disease can be transmitted through the air and may infect any part of the body, but most commonly the lungs.

The participants, 80 in total, were also briefed about the general signs and symptoms of TB that include fever, chills, night sweats, loss of appetite, weight loss, and fatigue.
All the villagers, council members and college students appreciated the efforts undertaken by all the students and Assam Rifles in observing the day to create awareness towards a healthy world.
