In commemoration of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, Shamator Noklak Battalion Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ 7 Sector Assam Rifles/ HQ Inspector General Assam Rifles (North) conducted Awareness on Cervical Cancer (Carcinoma of Cervix) at Longdon Baptist Church, Noklak town, in coordination with Khiamniungan Baptist Churches Association (KBCA), Noklak district, Nagaland on 7th August 2022.
The awareness lecture was conducted by Dr. Jacob, CMO, 14 Assam Rifles.
Cervical cancer (CA Cervix) is the commonest Cancer cause of death among women in developing countries
CMO Assam Rifles addressed Women gathering about Cervical cancer – the types of Cervical Cancer namely, Squamous Cell Carcinoma and Adenocarcinoma. In his address he also spoke on, risk factors for Carcinoma of Cervix, signs & Symptoms of Carcinoma of Cervix, its serious complications and treatment too.
The CMO also emphasized the Preventive and precautionary measures for Carcinoma of the Cervix,
- Necessity of PAP SMEAR TEST, which can detect pre-cancerous conditions of the Cervix
- timely vaccination of Human Papilloma virus (HPV) Vaccine for prevention of Carcinoma of the Cervix
Laam, Women Pastor, Longdon Baptist Church, Noklak and Miss Chongtie, Secretary Women Department, Khiamniungan Baptist Churches Association, Noklak, and Church members conveyed their gratitude to 14 Assam Rifles for educating them on Carcinoma of Cervix.
