The Assam Rifles constructed a football field in Nkwerue Village in Peren District as part of Operation Sadhbhavna Project 2023-24.

The initiative was aimed at fostering community development and promoting physical fitness among the local populace. The Assam Rifles said that it took swift action in fulfilling the to the heartfelt plea of the local youths, who expressed their need for a dedicated space to engage in their favourite sport and stay physically active.

The newly constructed football field stands as a testament to the collaborative efforts between the Assam Rifles and the local community, symbolizing a shared commitment to fostering harmony, development, and well-being in the region. It provides a safe and conducive environment for the youth of Nkwerue village to come together, showcase their talents, and engage in healthy competition.

The handing over of football field ceremony was attended by the citizens of Nkwerue village who expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Assam Rifles for construction of much needed sports infrastructure.
