The Jalukie Battalion of Assam Rifles on Wednesday organised a ‘Security Meet’ with 16 villages falling under Peren district at Nzauna village. The Meet was conducted as an effort to promote peace and harmony in the region and to develop a sense of security among the local poplace, the Assam Rifles stated.
Gaon Buras (GB) and Village Council members attended the meeting where issues related to security in the area; sharing of information for any untoward incidents; coordination and convergence on the issues of mutual interest between Security Forces and public were discussed.

The Assam Rifles informed the gathering about likely security threats in the region and also the security force’s relentless efforts to maintain peace and harmony in the region.
The attendees were also informed about various welfare schemes like educational scholarship scheme, vocational training for self employment, admission to various educational institutions and recruitment examinations for various posts.
The GBs and Village Council members appreciated the gesture of the Assam Rifles apart from expressing their willingness to maintain close liaison with the Security Forces.
