The Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ 7 Sector AR conducted an awareness programme on Drug Abuse at St Paul School, Noklak Town on 27 August 2022.

The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of 14 Assam Rifles, Jacob Lalmalson, gave a lecture on the subject, focusing on drug abuse and drug addiction, and the types of substances used by youths.

The students were given information on substances that cause addiction. Lalmalson also laid out the effects of drug abuse according to blood type, pointing out that it leads to total damage of the body and mind.

Lalmalson advised them to look out for their aims and goals in life, avoiding temptations and peer pressure. He encouraged them to stand on the statement: No to drugs, Yes to Life.

The awareness program began with a reading of Romans 6:23 from the Bible and concluded with the students and teachers taking an oath to make Nagaland a better place. The 14 Assam Rifles were given a heartfelt gratitude by the headmaster, Mr. Biju Mathews, for educating the students on drug abuse.
