Andrea Kevichüsa has won the ‘Best Female Debut’ award at the 68th Hyundai Filmfare Awards 2023 held at Jio World Centre, Mumbai, Maharashtra.
The first person from Nagaland to win a Filmfare Awards, Kevichusa in a post on Instagram said, “BEYOND grateful!!” while thanking all who were involved in the film Anek. “I am indebted to everyone for all the support I have received in this journey,” she added.
Andrea Kevichüsa is a model and actress and had made her acting debut with Anek. Kevichüsa did her schooling in Kohima, and started modelling at15 and has been featured in editorials of magazines such as Vogue India, Harper’s Bazaar, Elle, Femina, Grazia and on the cover of Filmfare.
Minister of Women Resource Development & Horticulture, Salhoutuonuo Kruse, while congratulating Kevichüsa on her achievement, tweeted, “It’s heartening to see our women achievers.”
“You have made us all proud! Wishing you even more success in the future,” Kruse added.
Anek is a 2022 Indian Hindi-language action thriller film written and directed by Anubhav Sinha. The film revolves around a government police secret agent official (played by Khurrana), who is sent to the Northeast region of India to bring a peace deal between the government and the separatist groups in the North East.
Andrea Kevichüsa starred in Anek as “Aido” alongside Ayushmann Khurrana who played the role of “Agent Aman / Joshua”.
Anek was released in worldwide cinemas on 27 May 2022.

There were four actors who were nominated for the award in the category: Andrea Kevichüsa (ANEK), Khushali Kumar (Dhokha: Round D Corner), Manushi Chhillar (Samrat Prithviraj) and Prajakta Koli (Jugjugg Jeeyo).
The 68th Filmfare Awards is a ceremony, presented by The Times Group, honouring the best Indian Hindi-language films released in 2022.
Alia Bhatt starrer Gangubai Kathiawadi led the ceremony with 15 nominations, and won 10 awards including Best Film. Badhaai Do won six awards, including Best Film (Critics), and Brahmāstra: Part One – Shiva won five awards in the ceremony.
