As part of the ongoing organisational elections, the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) has appointed 53 Mandal Presidents and 4 Adhoc Mandal Presidents out of the 60 Assembly Constituencies in the State.
The notification issued by State Returning Officer, Manai Konyak, stated that the Presidents were elected as per the directive of the National Returner Office. It also informed that the election of the Mandal Presidents, Nagaland BJP Unit was for the tenure 2025-2028 with immediate effect.
The two mandals for which the president spots remain vacant are 54-Tuensang Sadar II and 56-Noklak Assembly Constituencies.
Earlier on 4th January 2024, Nagaland State BJP President, Benjamin Yepthomi felicitated the newly appointed Mandal Presidents of all the 5 Mandals under Dimapur, Chümoukedima and Niuland Districts in presence of State General Secretary and State Returning Officer, State Vice President of BJP State Mahila Morcha and State Co-Returning Officer, Party officials and karyakartas.
Anil K Antony, BJP National Spokesperson and in-charge of Nagaland, congratulated all the newly elected Mandal Presidents. In a post on X platform, Antony stated, “Wishing you all the best in continuing to strengthen our organization at the grass roots and accelerate PM @narendramodi ji’s transformative work in India’s north eastern region.
