The mortal remains of the deceased was brought to her home in Pang Village in Noklak district on Wednesday, where the funeral service was held at 2:00 pm.
According to the police, the girl, who belonged to the Khiamniungan tribe, died of gunshot injuries on 8 May 2023 in a private hospital in Dimapur. Her boyfriend, a cadre of NSCN (Khango group) has been arrested along with his driver.
Along with all the students of Nagaland, the Konyak Students’ Union and the United Sangtam Students’ Conference have extended solidarity with the bereaved family of late Supou P.
KSU expressed its shock over the incident where the 25-year-old girl was shot dead. It condemned the ‘brutal and mindless act of the accused’ and appealed for appropriate punishment.
USSC too condemned the ‘cowardly and horrific act’ and called for vigorous punishment as per the law of the land. It also appealed to the State government and law enforcement agencies to book the culprits “under non-bailable offence”.
Both student bodies conveyed condolences to the family and loved ones of Supou P.
