Phek: SP emphasises importance of choosing limited books and mastering them

The District Employment Office and DEF Police, Phek in collaboration with Phek Government College (PGC) and Phek Town Chakhesang Students’ Union organised a ‘Career Guidance Programme for Civil Service Aspirants and Awareness on NCS Portal’ on Thursday at Phek Government College, Phek.

Dr. Pritpal Kaur (IPS), Superintendent of Police, Phek, Neithozo Theunuo, EAC (P) and W. Balong Phom, EAC (P) were the resource persons of the event.

Dr. Kaur elaborated on the various tools and textbooks to be used while preparing civil service examinations and to think like a teacher setting a question paper when studying the pattern. She also emphasised the importance of choosing limited books and mastering them. Further, the SP reminded the students to refrain from substance abuse and to work hard by keeping firm faith in God and themselves regardless of any failures in life.

In the second session, Theunuo shared his personal experience and provided some tips for the students such as committing fully to the first attempt with a properly charted study plan. He also stated the need to research one’s preferred designation or department for job satisfaction.

Speaking in the third and final session, W. Balong motivated the students by instructing them to set goals and see themselves as the drivers of their own lives. He also presented the students with the 3 Ds- Decision, Discipline and Determination as the key factors in bringing success.

The programme was chaired by Dr. Nutazo Lohe (Asst. Prof.) and the welcome note was delivered by Dr. T. Tiakaba Jamir, Principal of Phek Government College.

In conclusion, a note of gratitude was proposed by Vezovo Rhakho (President, PTCSU) and the programme ended with closing remarks by Zhozoto Nakro (YP, Ministry of Labour & Employment Govt. of India).
