The Changki Yimlang Baptist Arogo (CYBA) celebrated its platinum jubilee on 27 and 28 December in Changki village, Mokokchung.

The event was held on the theme ‘Krista Dak Rangben Akangshiba’ (Fully anchored in Christ).

Rev O Alem was the main speaker on the second day of the jubilee programme. He spoke on the topic ‘Rangben Akangshiba nung Arogo Teinyaktsu’ (The Role of a Church in Re-strengthening Holistically) on 28 December.

Dwelling on the theme, the preacher said in order to re-strengthen holistically, the role of the church is to look after the congregation both physically and spiritually. He asserted that holistic change should be delivered to the congregation by the church to become one with the Almighty.

Stating that the body, soul and the Holy Spirit are one, he told the congregation that they will be convinced of the changes in themselves when they realise and confess their sins and receive salvation in Christ through the Holy Spirit.

He also said if one is a mere Christian, the way to heaven cannot be delivered and instead it will come at a cost as one would lose their salvation.

In this connection, Rev O Alem asserted that whatever success one achieves in life, at the end of the day, one’s salvation will be determined through one’s personal relationship with God.

“To do God’s will, God’s omnipresence is there and he rewards more than we asked for. Therefore, we should seek God in body, mind and spirit,” he said.

Changki Yimlang Baptist Arogo was established by around 60 households. Today, the church has 2,010 members.
