The Changtongya Students’ Union conducted a surprise inspection in shopsat Changtongya Town, Mokokchung, where several expired food items were discovered and confiscated. Seventeen shops were found selling expired goods, prompting concerns about public health.

The union took action in accordance with Section 273 of The Indian Penal Code, 1860, calling upon SDO (C) Changtongya, C. Wangan, NCS to witness the disposal of the items.

The president of the union, Arensashi, highlighted the dangers posed by expired food products, especially to young people and urged the public to remain vigilant when purchasing goods to safeguard their health. The union pledged to continue monitoring the situation closely.
