Children School, one of the oldest schools in Mokokchung district, held its Literary Day 2024 on the theme ‘Excelsior’ on August 6, 2024 with an array of activities involving all students from the nursery till the Class – X. The event was held at Aongza Ki (Aongza Ward Council building), informed Administer Children School, Mokokchung.
The Literary Day was made more memorable as parents also attended the programme and watched their child perform in different activities.
Headmistress Toshimenla, while giving her welcome address, encouraged her children stating, “Your voice matters and your stories deserve to be told.” Therefore, she said, “as we gather to cherish the power of words, to celebrate the magic of language and to recognize the literary talents among us, our school (Children School) has always believed in fostering a love for creative expressions in literature.”
The programme witnessed an array of activities where the children presented different performances.

Among others, the main feature was the Prepared Speech where Ameer and Rongsentula of Class X were adjudged the winners. Likewise, in the Spelling Bee competition (Ao vocabulary), Imnasenla and Talisen, both of Class 7, were adjudged winners.
The programme was emceed by Imtisenla while, Imtijungla invoked God’s blessing. Pursenla, Convener, Literary Committee delivered the vote of thanks.
