CM Rio inaugurates Hortiscape at Naga Heritage Village Kisama

Kisama: The lists of the winners under State Level Fruits, Vegetable, Spices & Exotic and Indigenous Vegetable and Spices and Flowers Competition are given below

Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio inaugurated the Hortiscape pavilion today, on Statehood Day and the first day of the 23rd Hornbill Festival at Naga Heritage Village, Kisama.

The Hortiscape, managed by the department of horticulture, comprises of Floral Galleria, Kaleidoscope Hortus and Naga Organic Pavilion, the DIPR report said.

Floral Galleria is dedicated to flowers and plants. The winners and participants of the Hornbill Festival Flower Competition, in categories of ferns & foliage, cacti & succulents, indigenous foliage & flowers, bulbs, tubers & rhizomes, orchids (indigenous), orchids (hybrids) and bonsai were on display.

The Kaleidoscope Hortus celebrates the rich biodiversity of the State’s indigenous crops. Collection of crops such as Burmese Grapes, Pea Egg Plant, Bitter Egg Plant, Pungent Ginger, Sumac, Sichuan Pepper, Black Dammar/Raal, Pork Fat Nut, Sohiong/Black Berry, Ink Nut/Haritaki, Hog Plum, Fan Palm Seed, Wild Fig, Wild Apple, etc. are kept on display.

The flowers, fruits and vegetables will be on display till the end of the festival, and different organic fruits, vegetables and fruit products will also be available for buying.

Wheelchairs have also been kept at the Floral Galleria to assists visitors with special needs, the report stated.
