CM Rio visits fire outbreak site at Nagaland House New Delhi

Nagaland Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio along with Deputy Chief Minister, TR Zeliang, Deputy Chief Minister, Y Patton, Advisor, School Education, Dr Kekhrielhoulie Yhome and senior government officials visited Nagaland House, 29-Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Road, New Delhi, the site of a fire outbreak on June 22 to assess the damage caused by the fire.

Resident Commissioner Nagaland House New Delhi, Abhijit Sinha, IAS and Joint Resident Commissioner NH New Delhi, Sharon Longchari apprised the Chief Minister and his team of the aftermath and post incident management being carried out following the fire outbreak.

A fire broke out at Room No. 2 of Main Guest House Building, Nagaland House, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Road, New Delhi on the morning of June 22. Three guests were present in the guest house during the fire outbreak, all of them were evacuated safely without injury. No lives were lost during the incident.

Prompt action from the guest house staff helped in subsiding the fire from spreading to adjacent areas, till the fire brigade arrived and brought the fire under control.

Preliminary assessment has indicated that the fire may have originated in the vicinity of the split air conditioning unit above the sofa in the living room of Room No. 2.
