Kohima: Jamir affirms Congress will have a friendly contest

Nagaland Congress candidate, S Supongmeren Jamir filed his nomination paper for the 18th Lok Sabha Election today at Commissioner Nagaland and Returning Officer’s Office Kohima.

Speaking to media persons after the nomination, S Supongmeren Jamir exuded hope that the citizens and voters of the State will come forward and vote for the Congress party.

Jamir, the INDIA bloc’s consensus candidate, also said that winning the Lok Sabha polls lies with the voters, adding that Congress will have a friendly contest.

Earlier, the Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee had a ticket handing ceremony at Congress Bhavan, Kohima which was followed by the candidate’s nomination filing.

Mention maybe made that, till date only three candidates have filed their nomination namely, PDA candidate Dr Chumben Murry, Congress candidate S Supongmeren Jamir and Independent candidate Hayithung Tungoe Lotha.
