Kohima; Nagaland Police observes Constitution Day

The  Nagaland Police observed the Constitution Day November 24 at the Conference Hall, PHQ to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India.

The program held at the Police Headquarter was chaired by Rhovisie Nyuwi, AIGP (Admin) who highlighted the significance of the Day mentioning that the Preamble was the “soul of the constitution”. In his short address, Rupin Sharma (IPS), Director General of Police, Nagaland, stated that the “Constitution Day” which was observed since 2015, is a day to not only to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India but also a day to remind us of the rights and responsibility as a citizen of this country. Sharma further stated that the Preamble acts as a “lighthouse” in every sphere of our lives to give us a sense of direction and purpose. The observance of the Constitution Day at PHQ was also joined by the officials of 13 (thirteen) Banks in the State who were present at PHQ for a consultative meeting with the police department. The Banking officials included Dy General Managers, Chief Managers and host of Branch Managers.

The short program was followed by reading of the Preamble of the Constitution of India by the congregation consisting of all Officers and Staffs of PHQ, NPTO, Police Engineering Project and INT led by the Director General of Police, Rupin Sharma.

The program concluded with a vote of thanks by the Chairperson.
