A coordination meeting which was convened by the Deputy Commissioner Kohima on August 11 in the official residence of the Deputy Commissioner Kohima, has amicably resolved the contention between the Assam Rifles and the Angami Students’ Union (ASU).
This was informed in a meeting minutes issued by the Deputy Commissioner of Kohima, Kumar Ramnikant, IAS.
The meeting was called to discuss and resolve the issue that arose over the incident between the President of Angami Students’ Union and Assam Rifles soldier of IGAR North D. Block Kohima on August 9 and attended by members of Angami Students’ Union (ASU), Angami Public Organization (APO), DC Kohima, IGAR North, ADC Kohima.

After a threadbare discussion on the matter, the following minutes were recorded, informed the DC:
- The Assam Rifle soldier expressed deep regret and apologised for the incident with the President of Angami Students’ Union while on duty, and having inadvertently hurt his and the sentiment of the Angami Students’ Union.
- Having tendered apology, all clarification statements over the issue stands null and void and the whole issue stands amicably resolved.
