Nagaland Chief Minister along with Dy CM Y Patton, UDA Chairman T R Zeliang, UDA Co-Chairman & NPF Leader Azo Nienu, and a few legislators from NDPP, BJP, NPF and independent legislator Minister Tongpang Ozukum is slated to meet NEDA Convenor and CM of Assam Himanta Biswa Sarma in Guwahati today. Thereafter, the committee is said to be leaving for the national capital to meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah. The committee is also hoping to meet the Prime Minister.

Sources informed that the Core Committee on Naga Political issue (CCoNPI) is calling on the leaders to give the last push for a solution to the long pending Indo Naga political issue before the 2023 General assembly elections.

The Committee led by Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio will be conveying to the leaders to expedite the political process and bring about a logical conclusion before the general election as talks cannot go on forever.

The CCoNPI also held a meeting on 6 September at the Chief Minister’s residence in Sovima Village, Dimapur.
