The Combined Technical Association of Nagaland (CTAN) and the Nagaland NET Qualified Forum (NNQF) has demanded the Department of Higher Education for the revocation of the December 17, 2024 Government order which permits the absorption/regularisation of backdoor appointees in the posts of Assistant Professors/Librarians. Failing which, the two groups have cautioned, in a press release, that it will begin protest outside the Directorate from April 16.

“In the interest of the aspirants in Nagaland, the CTAN and members of NNQF demand for revocation of Government Order No. THE/HE/13-3/2020(Pt-1) 104 Dated 17th Dec. 2024, which permits the government to absorb/regularize the Backdoor appointees in the posts of Assistant Professors/Librarians. In connection to the order, 147 Assistant Professors/Librarians were absorbed on 18th Dec 2024 through Govt Notification No. THE/HE/134-3/2020 (Pt-ll)/51 dated the 18th Dec 2024,” stated the joint press release.

The groups also reminded the Higher Education Department of the Office Memorandum (NO.AR-5/ASSO/98 Dated the 6th June 2016) of the P&AR Department on ‘The ban of Contract Appointment’, and demanded for the immediate cancellation of the December 17, 2024 order. And also terminate those appointees after June 6, 2016.

“Failing to comply with our demand will lead to protests outside the Directorate starting from 16th April 2025,” cautioned the groups.
