A relief team of the Naga People’s Front (NPF) visited Mon district on July 29 to express solidarity with the families affected by the devastating landslide of July 19, which claimed 11 lives.
During the visit, the delegation met representatives of the Konyak Union and conveyed the party’s condolences to the bereaved families and the people of the district.
The NPF team also handed over a relief contribution of ₹6 lakh to the Konyak Union. According to the party, the amount was raised through voluntary contributions made by party members and well-wishers.
The delegation was led by Advisor to the Chief Minister Apong Pongener; Working President Ahovi Awomi; Senior Vice President Khongjah Konyak; Vice President Shamlau Konyak and General Secretary Manpha Konyak.

Meanwhile, the NPF also expressed deep sorrow over the landslide that struck Upper Penli Ward, Mokokchung Town, on July 28, resulting in the deaths of two young brothers.
The party mourned the untimely demise of Muwalong Sangtam (19) and Thridiba Sangtam (16), both students of Queen Mary Higher Secondary School, Mokokchung.
Extending its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, the NPF prayed for the eternal peace of the departed souls and for strength and comfort for the family during their time of grief.
