DC Mokokchung issues a Travel Advisory

Mokokchung: All travellers from Tuensang, Shamator and Noklak urged to take alternative routes

Deputy Commissioner Mokokchung Thsuvisie Poji issued a Travel Advisory on Tuesday that in view of the major damage caused to the bailey bridge at KM 12 along NH 202 (between Ungma and Longsa), the movement of all types of vehicles on the bridge would be restricted with immediate effect.

The DC, therefore, informed all travellers from neighbouring districts of Tuensang, Shamator and Noklak to take the following alternative routes-

  1. New Sangsomong – Yehemi – Atoizu – Doyang.
  2. Mokokcung – Chuchuyimlang – Longmisa – Alisopur -Trongar – NH 202.
  3. Mokokchung – Dikhu – Chare (shortcut).

DC Phoji further stated in the Travel Advisory that the concerned department was in the process of initiating repair works and pending its completion the total restriction on movement of vehicles along the aforesaid route shall remain enforced. He requested for cooperation from travellers and warned that non-compliance will invite penal action as per the relevant section of the law.
