DC Peren informs on Dr. Ambedkar Medical Aid Scheme for SCs & STs

Peren: Eligible applicants can submit applications to Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Peren

The Deputy Commissioner, Peren Vineet Kumar, IAS, has informed the general public of Peren District to apply for the Dr. Ambedkar Medical Aid Scheme, that provides assistance to patients belonging to Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe categories suffering from serious ailments requiring surgery of Kidney, Heart, Liver, Cancer and Brain or any other life threatening diseases including organ transplant and spinal surgery.

In the Notification, the DC informed that the Dr. Ambedkar Medical Aid Scheme is implemented by the Dr. Ambedkar Foundation, an autonomous organization set up under the aegis of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India.

Eligibility:

  1. The applicant shall belong to Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe community
  2. Annual family income shall not exceed Rs.3,00,000/- per annum

Diseases covered: Kidney, heart, liver, brain, cancer or any other life threatening diseases including organ transplant and spinal surgery

The Dr. Ambedkar Medical Aid Scheme is implemented through 10 identified Hospitals and all CGHS approved hospitals, all State Govt. Medical Colleges, all State Govt. Empanelled Hospitals, all Hospitals fully funded by Central and the State Govt., all Govt. hospitals in district headquarters/ major town.

The Deputy Commissioner, Peren further informed eligible applicants to apply for medical aid by post in the prescribed application form or on plain paper as per details in the prescribed Performa (also available in Dr. Ambedkar Foundation website) Click here for form

All eligible applicants can also submit the application to Deputy Commissioner’s Office during Office hours for forwarding to the foundation, the DC said.
