A joint team of Dimapur Police on Friday arrested two cadres of NSCN K (Khango) from a house at New Minister’s Hill, Kohima in relation to a case on threats, extortion and harassment.

Dimapur Police, in a statement, informed that a case was registered at Sub-Urban Police Station based on a written complaint from the President of Andhra Fish Supply Union that stated that on 3 May 2023, unknown miscreants poured harmful chemicals inside 34 boxes of fish.

Accordingly, some suspects were identified and placed under police surveillance and on Friday, a team proceeded to Kohima and the two persons were apprehended in a raid. The persons were identified as Apuloto Chishi (36), SS Lieutenant Colonel NSCN K (Khango) Kohima Town Commander and Kaisha Yepthomi (30) SS 2nd Lieutenant NSCN K (Khango).

Police also seized one 9mm Berreta with 42 live rounds, Rs. 10,000 cash, 17 booklets of extortion slips and other incriminating documents. The vehicle used in the crime was also recovered and seized, Dimapur Police said.
