Dimapur to check strict implementation of ILP in district

Dimapur: Transit passengers passing through Dimapur district to go to other states having valid ticket as proof are not required to get the ILP

The Deputy Commissioner Dimapur, Sachin Jaiswal, IAS has on Wednesday directed for a task force to be formed to ensure the strict implementation of Inner Line Permit (ILP) in the district. The Joint Task Force of District Administration and Police will be responsible to conduct regular ILP checking and maintain vigil for the strict implementation of the Inner Line Permit, the notification stated.

The DC informed that every non-indigenous person entering the district should possess the ILP, in line with the notification from Home Department (Political Branch), Government of Nagaland dated 9th December 2019 that extended the ILP to ‘cover the entire District of Dimapur’ and another notification on 6th March 2020.

However, transit passengers passing through Dimapur district to go to other states having valid ticket as proof are not required to get the ILP.

Non-indigenous person who entered or settled in Dimapur district after 21 November 1979 must compulsorily get the Permit from the DC Office within 30 days of Wednesday’s notification.

It further warned defaulters with imprisonment or fine as per the Bengal Eastern Frontier Regulation 1873 (BEFR Act).
