Director MorD & CPO reviews Thonoknyu Aspirational Block Programme at Noklak

Director, Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD) & Central Prabhari Officer (CPO) for Thonoknyu Aspirational Block, Raj Priy Singh, IFS visited Noklak district on July 14.

During his visit, Raj Priy Singh held a review meeting with District Administration and line departments for Thonoknyu Aspirational Block Programme at the Conferences Hall of the Superintendent of Police, Noklak.

In his address, Raj highlighted the vison of Viksit Bharat@2047 and Government of India’s strategic plan to transform the country into a fully developed nation which is spearheaded by NITI Aayog, and asserted that the initiative is built on four core pillars: youth, the poor, women, and farmers.

Singh also highlighted the VB-G RAM G (Viksit Bharat–Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission Gramin) Act. He mentioned on four domains under the Act: such as Water Security: Water-related works (ponds, recharge structures, and irrigation facilities); Core Rural Infrastructure: Rural connectivity (roads, paths, and public facilities); Livelihood-Related Infrastructure: Assets to support local trades (rural markets and storage facilities); and Extreme Weather Mitigation: Climate resilience and disaster-proofing works.

Further, Raj requested all the stakeholders to work together for all round development of the block and the district as well.

In his PowerPoint presentation, SDO (Civil) Noklak & Nodal Officer for Thonoknyu Aspirational Block, Vikhoto Richa highlighted the various initiatives taken up in the block. He presented an overview of the performance of the Block across five sectors: Health & Nutrition, Social Development, Agriculture & Allied, Education and Basic Development. He also highlighted the challenges faced by the Block in terms of remoteness, topography, road connectivity, lack of banking facilities, data discrepancy, infrastructure deficit and shortages of human resources in the Block.

Earlier, DC Noklak, P Mono Khiamniungan who chaired the meeting, extended his appreciation to the CPO for the visit and guidance. He also appreciated the tireless efforts extended by various departments for upliftment of Thonoknyu Aspirations Block Programme and stated that despite many challenges, Thonoknyu Block achieved 1st Rank for the Period (Oct – Dec 2025) in the Delta Ranking.

As part of the visit, the CPO also visited an Anganwadi Centre and Sub Centre and inspected some houses constructed under PMAY-G in Noklak village.
