Director of Census Operations, Nagaland, Dr Kenei Miachieo, visited Meluri on July 8 to review the ongoing House Listing exercise of Census 2027. A review meeting was held with the Deputy Commissioner, Charge Officers, and Liaison Officer Census, associated with the Census Operations in attendance at the Residential Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Meluri, Phuleshe K. Yepthomi.
Addressing the meeting, Dr Miachieo emphasized the importance of ensuring accuracy and completeness in the House Listing exercise, stating that quality data collected during the first phase would serve as the foundation for the subsequent stages of Census 2027.
He cautioned that inaccurate or false enumeration during the House Listing process could lead to complications in the later phases of the Census and stressed the need for strict adherence to the prescribed Census guidelines and procedures.

He urged the Charge Officers, to carry out the exercise with sincerity, diligence and accountability, ensuring that every household is correctly enumerated. He also highlighted the importance of verification and timely completion of the exercise to maintain the credibility and reliability of the Census.
The meeting also provided an opportunity to interact with the Charge Officers on the ongoing House Listing exercise and discuss issues related to field implementation.
