The quarterly meeting of the District Level Committee of Mission Shakti, along with a consultative meeting for the constitution of the management committee of Sakhi One Stop Centre, was held at the Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Hall, Wokha on June 23. The session was chaired by Deputy Commissioner & Chairperson of Mission Shakti, K Mhathung Tsanglao.

The meeting began with a review of the previous discussions under Mission Shakti. Progress of the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao programme was examined, with deliberations on the action plan, suggestions for improvement, and tracking of completed and ongoing activities in the district.

Central Administrator of Sakhi One Stop Centre, Thungbeni Kikon, highlighted the roles and responsibilities of the newly constituted management committee. The committee comprises of District Magistrate/Deputy Commissioner as Chairperson;  Superintendent of Police (SP); Secretary, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) ; District Bar Council Chairperson;  Chief Medical Officer (CMO); District Programme Officer (DPO)/Protection Officer (PO); District Panchayat Officer; Civil Society representatives – 3 members (minimum 2 women); and: ITDA/ITDP Project Officer (if applicable) — Special Area.

The composition was discussed to ensure effective functioning and accountability of the Sakhi One Stop Centre in providing integrated support and assistance to women in distress.
