District level Spoken Word Competition held at JCC

As part of the International Youth Day celebration, Kohima district level Spoken Word Competition was conducted at Japfù Christian College, Kigwema on 12 August 2022. The programme was organised by District AIDS Prevention and Control Unit in collaboration with Japfù Christian College, Kigwema under the theme, ‘Intergenerational Solitary: Creating a world for all ages-HIV free’.

Speaking at the function, District ICTC Supervisor Vituozolie Kuotsu explained the process of HIV virus transmission. He also pointed out that HIV is not transmitted through hugging, shaking hands with infected person or sharing clothes and toilet. District TB Officer Dr Chibenthung Kithan shared about Tuberculosis awareness.

Chutile Seb (5th semester) won the first prize of the Kohima District Spoken Word Competition, Chuphen C Longkongly (3rd semester) came in second while the third prize was bagged by Viketou Kiso (5th semester). The consolation prizes went to Y Naowang K (Class 12), Vidito Noswe (5th semester) and Watu Mero (3rd semester). Altogether, 24 students participated in the competition.

The principal of JCC, Dr.Visakhonü Hipo, delivered the welcome address while DPO, District AIDS Prevention and Control Unit, Sentimongla Tzudir, gave the vote of thanks.
