Districts in Nagaland prepares for Lok Sabha election

With the general election to the 18th Lok Sabha 2024 to begin tomorrow, various districts in Nagaland are all set for the smooth and peaceful conduct of the election. Polling personnel and polling materials were dispatched on April 18 for their designated polling stations in Nagaland.

The Polling personnel of 56 AC Noklak and 57 AC Thonoknyu under Noklak District HQ were  dispatched today to their respective polling stations.

In Wokha district, the polling personnel were dispatched under the presence of the DC & DEO, Wokha Ajit Kumar Ranjan, IAS.

Wokha district has 215 polling stations with four (4) assembly constituencies, i.e 37th Tyui, 38 Wokha, 39 Sanis & 40 Bhandari A/C under Wokha.

The DC & DEO, Wokha informed that there are 60 all-female polling stations and 155 male polling stations, comprising 426 female personnel and 936 male polling personnel.

At Chümoukedima, election materials for polling day were dispatched to 175 polling stations today. 121 polling stations for 4 Ghaspani-l and 54 polling stations for 5 Ghaspani -ll commenced where more than 875 polling officials were deployed for election duty under Chumoukedima district in the category of all young polling personnel, all women polling personnel, informed DIPR.

Earlier, the EVM receipt & dispatch counter strong rooms were opened by AEO& ADC, Dr. Kuzonyi Wideo, Chumoukedima for 4 Ghaspani-l and AEO & ADC, Medziphema, James Swu for 5 Ghaspani-ll in presence of the political parties, security and concerned officers to ensure a free and fair election.
