Drug education & awareness held in Zunheboto

Zunheboto: A programme on Drug education and awareness for pharmacists and small shop owners was held at Town Hall, Zunheboto on 28th July 2022.

The program was held to create awareness of the misuse of drugs, and laws about the sale of items under the category of the medicinal substance.

Drug Inspector, Zunheboto Boto Sema spoke on the Drugs & Cosmetic Act and the role of pharmacists where he highlighted the storage of medicines, the right way of dealing with patients, record maintenance, and sale of restricted medicines like cough syrup. He emphasized strict maintenance of the rules and added that the pharmacists should buy from registered whole sellers only.

The opening remark was given by ADC and Administrator Zunheboto Town Council, Moakumzuk Tzudir. SDPO Zunheboto, Shikato Swu explained the offences and punishments under the NDPS Act.
