Elementary teachers’ training held at PLHSS Longleng

The District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) Tuensang conducted a two-day elementary teachers training program at Phom Lempong Higher Secondary School, Longleng on May 8 and 9.

Resource persons for the training programme from DIET— Chonbeni Yanthan, Vimetuonuo Rutsa, Rano Nienu, Venyilu Rhakho, and Thowasie Katiry covered key topics including NEP 2020, Beyond Conventional Classroom: Innovative Pedagogies (NEP 2020), Integration of Technology, 5E Instructional Planning, and Creating a Healthy Workplace in Schools aligned with NEP 2020, which was tailored to meet the needs of the school. The teachers also participated in hands-on sessions where they collaborated in groups to develop innovative and inclusive Teaching Learning Materials (TLMs) based on various curricular contents.

The program aimed to inform teachers about the new structure and changes in the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and equip them with innovative ideas to create a fun and joyful

learning experience for students. The training also focused on fostering a healthy working environment, enabling teachers to implement these changes, and promoting a positive school culture.

During the closing program, teachers shared their feedback on the training. Principal

PLHSS Philip Nyam expressed gratitude to DIET Tuensang for conducting the training, acknowledging its significance in enhancing teachers’ skills.

Phom Baptist Christian Association (PBCA) executive secretary N Tialemba Phom appreciated the resource persons for their impactful sessions and emphasized the importance of teachers staying updated with current changes. He concluded his remarks with a prayer.
