The Eastern Nagaland Peoples’ Union, Mokokchung (ENPUM) has withdrawn its September 18 circular titled “Public Warning Notice: Regarding Objectionable/Manipulated Content on Social Media,” stating that it was intended only as a general awareness notice.

In a clarification issued on Monday, ENPUM said the circular, bearing Ref. No. ENPUM/2026-09-2 and dated September 16, had not named or targeted any particular tribe, individual or institution.

The Union said it regretted any hurt sentiments or misunderstanding caused by the circular.

It stated that the decision to withdraw the notice was unanimously taken during an Executive and Official Emergency Meeting held on September 21 at the ENPUM Treasurer’s residence.

ENPUM expressed appreciation for the understanding, cooperation and goodwill of all concerned.
