GHS Wokha Village conducts Literary Week

Wokha: HM expresses satisfaction at students’ active participation in competitions

A three days Literary Week conducted by Government High School Wokha Village culminated on Friday. The literary fest that commenced on 23rd August 2023 was organised to enlighten the minds of the students and boost up their competitive spirit through their participation.

The students actively participating in all the activities that included folk song, spelling bee, painting/sketching, essay, handicraft making, debate, quiz, storytelling, poem recitation, extempore speech and contemporary song singing. The competition was held house wise (Green, Red, Yellow and Blue) in two categories (Junior and Senior).

On day one, the program was held in two sessions. The 1st session of the competition was held on: 1) Folk Song Singing competition consisting of house wise group folk song and Solo folk song singing competition (2 participants each house) for both junior and senior category. 2) Contemporary Singing Competition, Solo and Duet (Junior and Senior) was conducted where 2 participants each house participated. The 2nd Session consisted of Group Folk Dance (house wise), and 3 participants of each house participated in Painting for Junior category, Sketching and Essay writing for the Senior category.

On the Second Day of the Literary Week at GHS Wokha Village, the first session of the competition consisted of Quiz competition for Senior category (2 participants each house), Story Telling for Junior category (2 participants each House) and Extempore speech competition (3 participants each house).

In the Second Session, the competition consists of Debate for senior category (3 participants each house), Poem Recitation for both Junior and Senior category (2 participants each house).

On the third and final day, the competition was held on Spell Bee for both Junior and Senior category (2 participants each house) and Handicraft Making for the boys (Basket waving) and for the girls Cutting & Tailoring was conducted.

Enibemo Yanthan, Headmaster of GHS Wokha Village responded that he was very satisfied on how the students actively participated with enthusiasm during the Literary Week and believed that conducting such activities have and will help them in future.
