Harmony in Diversity: Cultural cum Literary Day held at Sao Chang College Tuensang

The Sao Chang College Tuensang conducted its Cultural cum Literary Day on Saturday at the college campus under the theme ‘Harmony in Diversity’. Dr Lanurenla, Principal of SCC, was the main speaker on the occasion where she shared that in today’s time, diversity is a phenomenon that is common throughout the world. There is a beauty and strength in diversity and living together in harmony irrespective of race, culture, religions and political affiliation, she asserted.

Dr Lanurenla pointed out that diversity is a part our life and vital for progress and prosperity of the society. Diversity fosters intellectual development, stimulates growth and enhance the spirit of oneness, she added.

The Principal of Sao Chang College encouraged the students to uplift their morale and fosters harmony by cherishing the moments of coming together with compassion and love for each other towards common goals. She emphasized developing a sense of appreciation in order to promote rich cultural and respect each other’s culture.

Earlier the first session was chaired by Shangjep, invocation was pronounced by Nokshang, President, Evangelical Union, while welcome note was delivered by Chaanglemla. N, Literary & Cultural Secretary. Students presented a Nepal dance and a folk song (Tikhir). ‘Calling Naga Tribes’ was performed by BA, 6th semester, English Department, Sao Chang College Tuensang. A competition on Folklore Elocution was also organised in the first session which ended with vote of thanks by Aghato Sumi, Assistant Professor and Captain of NCC, and benediction from Khuloi.

The second session included presentations of traditional attire, folk dance and indigenous games.
