Hornbill Festival 2023: Footfall at Kisama crosses one lakh

Kisama: 3rd December, a Sunday, records highest number of visitors with 18,002 tourists

With three days more to go for the 24th Hornbill Festival, the total number of tourists visiting Naga Heritage Village in Kisama, the main venue of the festival, crossed one lakh on 7th December 2023.

Despite the rainy and chilly weather, 10,580 people made their way to the festival. According to the Department of Tourism, Thursday saw the lowest number of festival goers while 3rd December, being a Sunday, saw the highest number of visitors with 18,002 tourists.

According to the Department, of the total 1,00,189 tourists attending the 24th Hornbill Festival, 1897 were foreign tourists and 25,905 were domestic tourists who had come from across the country. A staggering 72,387 local tourists from Nagaland have so far attended the festival at Kisama.

The 2022 edition of the Hornbill Festival recorded a total 1,40,299 tourists in ten days.
