ICAR-TSP “The Study Falcon” organizes SHARK TANK NAGALAND at Nagaland University

The ICAR fully funded project ICAR-TSP “The Study Falcon” successfully organized SHARK TANK NAGALAND, a two-day entrepreneurial event held on March 28 and 29, 2025 in a hybrid format at the School of Agricultural Sciences, Nagaland University, Medziphema Campus. The event aimed at fostering entrepreneurship and providing students from various colleges a platform to present their innovative business ideas, informed a press release by the publicity coordinator.

Day One Highlights

The inaugural session was chaired by Dr. Debika Nongmaithem, Assistant Professor & Co-PI of the project. The event commenced with keynote addresses by Prof. L. Daiho, Dean of SAS NU, and Prof. J. Longkumer, Associate Dean of SAS NU, who emphasized the significance of entrepreneurship in empowering Nagaland’s youth and driving economic growth.

The session featured Piyush Chandra, an international trainer, as the resource person. He delivered an insightful presentation on the fundamentals of entrepreneurship, including idea generation, execution strategies, and overcoming common challenges. An interactive Q&A session followed, where students had the opportunity to clarify doubts and gain deeper insights into entrepreneurial success. The day concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Mary N. Odyuo, the Principal Investigator of the project.

Day Two Highlights

The second day commenced at 10:00 AM with an expert briefing on effectively presenting business ideas. To encourage active participation, students were divided into eight groups, leading to thirteen individual presentations showcasing innovative business concepts. Each presentation was followed by dynamic discussions, where participants exchanged ideas, raised queries, and provided constructive feedback.

SHARK TANK NAGALAND not only provided students with exposure to industry experts but also facilitated networking opportunities and enhanced their entrepreneurial acumen. The winners were awarded one-on-one mentoring sessions and financial assistance to support the establishment of their startups.

The successful event underscored the growing enthusiasm for entrepreneurship among Nagaland’s youth and marked a significant step toward fostering a vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem in the region, stated the press release.
