Indian Men’s Cricket Team receives roaring homecoming after winning ICC T20 World Cup, meets PM Modi

New Delhi: Team reaches New Delhi from Barbados in a chartered plane arranged by BCCI

The Indian Men’s Cricket Team landed in New Delhi on Thursday morning after a 16-hour long flight from Barbados. The team that won the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 were greeted by roaring fans at the airport as well as the hotel where they stopped.

The champions also visited Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his official residence. Later, PM Modi posted on X, “An excellent meeting with our Champions! Hosted the World Cup winning team at 7, LKM and had a memorable conversation on their experiences through the tournament.”

India won the ICC T20 World Cup on 30th June 2024 but could not return immediately due to the Category 4 Hurricane Beryl that made its landfall in Grenada on Monday. The team members, staff, their families and media persons finally boarded a chartered plane arranged by BCCI on Wednesday from Barbados.

The World champions will also hold a parade and celebrations at Marine Drive and Wandhede Stadium in Mumbai later today.

BCCI Jay Shah has announced a prize money of Rs 125 Crores for Team India for winning the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024.
