The Integrated Development Society held the launching program of CiTY BARN – health centre and innovation projects by Nagaland State AIDS Control Society H&FW, Government of Nagaland today at CiTY BARN below Akum Imlong school GHSS Road.

Special Guest, H. Berimong, SDO (Civil) Tuensang, in his address, emphasised City Barn’s commitment to support young people in their health journey. He highlighted that this is both a responsibility and an opportunity to connect them to the right channels creating a safe space for discussion and continuously adapting to their needs to make a significant impact.

He underscored on the necessity to foster an environment where young people feel safe to ask questions and seek help, encouraging open dialogue and help reduce stigmatisation associated with health issues.

Berimong then highlighted that the community and churches should also come together to remove stigmatisation and help the younger generation to take the services of CiTY BARN’s support underscoring that seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness.

He urged the CiTY BARN to be a centre where accurate information are provided as per the challenges or issues faced by young people, including an increased risk of mental health issues, which involves anxiety, depression and substance abuse. “Identifying issues early and providing timely interventions will empower them to make informed decisions about their health and wellbeing,” he emphasised. He stated that collaboration between the administration health care providers and the community is essential to the success of this society.

Earlier the programme was chaired by C. Phakmei Phom, District Resource Person (LWS), invocation was pronounced from Ben Chuba, President Baptist Youth Front, welcome note was delivered by N. James Chang, Chief Functionary (IDS), special presentation from Beginner Music Station and vote of thanks from Meyiezol Thapru, Centre Coordinator CiTY BARN.
