IPC on routes of HIV Transmission held at Yimkhiung Baptist Church, Tuensang

The Yimkhiung Baptist Church Youth Department, Tuensang held an Inter Personnel Campaign on routes of HIV Transmission among the youths on November 26. The campaign was held in collaboration with District AIDS Prevention and Control Unit (DAPCU) Tuensang and sponsored by Nagaland State AIDS Control Society. Under the theme “Know HIV Routes”, the awareness campaign was held at Yimkhiung Church, Tuensang with resource person Chongshen C Chang, District program Officer of DAPCU, Tuensang.

Highlighting on the various routes of transmission, Chang talked about HIV can only transmit in certain situation through contact with blood, breast milk and different kind of fluids.

He also mentioned about some important points on the route of transmission such as unprotected sexual contact, sharing of needles and syringes, mother to child transmission and blood transfusion. Chang also spoke on the prevention and pointed out the many ways to reduce the risk of contracting HIV. He urged the youths to lived a life of truth in Christ and to prevent from all the sinful ways.

The seminar was attended by more than 50 youth.
