The Intellectual Property Facilitation Centre (IPFC) of the Investment and Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN), in collaboration with the Nagaland Science and Technology Council (NASTEC) and Educentre School of Business (ESB), successfully hosted a One Day Awareness Program on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) at the Innovation and Incubation Centre, IDAN, Kohima on 12th December 2024.
The program commenced with a special remark from I. Changsang, NCS, Under Secretary, Nagaland who emphasized the importance of the Intellectual Property Facilitation Centre. He highlighted how IDAN IPFC’s collaboration with NASTEC and ESB aims to provide unparalleled services to the entrepreneurs of Nagaland. Changsang also urged the attendees to leverage the platform for the growth and protection of their businesses.
The event featured esteemed resource persons Kekuniel Ltu, Scientist ‘B’, NASTEC, who elaborated on “Intellectual Property Rights and its Components”. Gihukali Chishi, Technical In-Charge, Patent Information Centre – NASTEC provided an in-depth discussion on “Patents, Trademarks, Designs, and Trade Secrets”. Ketoulhoutuo-u Rame, Intellectual Property Rights Legal Consultant, IPFC shared valuable insights and experiences on “Infringement and Opposition”.

The program was attended by entrepreneurs, startups, and aspiring entrepreneurs who were provided with vital information on the availability of registration services for all types of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR).
This initiative by IPFC is part of its on-going efforts to support entrepreneurs, startups, and innovators in Nagaland, offering the necessary support to commercialize their businesses. As a state promotion agency, IDAN continues to play a crucial role in promoting impactful projects across various sectors, including education, healthcare, skill development, entrepreneurship, and community welfare.
The event was chaired by Nikhaholi Sumi of IPFC, with a warm welcome address delivered by Fiona Haralu, Operations Manager, Educentre, and a vote of thanks was proposed by Rashna Thapa, Career Counsellor, Educentre.
