The Japukong Senso Senden (JSS) and Tzurangkong Senso Senden have opposed the ultimatum issued by the Civil Society Organisation (CSO), Mangkolemba, demanding the resignation of Nagaland minister Temjen Imna Along over concerns surrounding the construction of the Multipurpose Hall in Mokokchung.
In separate statements, the two organisations described the demand as inappropriate and maintained that issues concerning public infrastructure and community welfare should be addressed through constructive dialogue and practical suggestions rather than ultimatums.
The JSS, which took up the matter at a meeting on October 7, condemned the ultimatum dated October 3, alleging that such a demand lacked lawful basis and reflected political considerations and a confrontational approach.
The organisation said arbitrary demands for resignation would neither serve the public interest nor help find practical and long-term solutions to existing challenges. It expressed willingness to engage with all stakeholders committed to finding a viable solution in the larger interest of the community.

The Tzurangkong Senso Senden also opposed the ultimatum, stating that demanding the minister’s resignation was not an appropriate way to address concerns relating to the construction of the Multipurpose Hall.
The organisation expressed confidence in Along’s leadership, noting that voters of the 30th Alongtaki Assembly Constituency had elected him for consecutive terms. It said public trust and support for the minister continued in the constituency.
The Tzurangkong Senso Senden further argued that people who were not part of the 30th Alongtaki Assembly Constituency should not issue ultimatums demanding the resignation of its elected representative. It appealed to all concerned to rise above political considerations and personal interests and work towards a peaceful and responsible resolution.
Both organisations reiterated that cooperation, collective responsibility and dialogue were essential to finding lasting solutions to issues affecting the community.
